I think I've stumbled upon the best bongo cat yet.
I tried some blogging so here is a post about getting started with game development using unity3d. I wrote way more than intended initially. I had a handful of links and it grew #gamedev
hey everyone writing code: you can't get around this. code does not exist in a noble mathematical void which absolves you of accountability. any system which people touch is tied into the fabric of society, and should be scrutinized for potential to do harm.

So I've been porting the open-source mmorpg / MUD game I've been writing here (in java :Java: ) https://github.com/Syncleus/AetherMUD
The new game is written in Ruby same idea though. It can be found here now https://github.com/Syncleus/Aethyr
It is a text based multi-player online game called a MUD. You don't even need a client to play, just telnet in to the server.
I've been working on porting over and improving the code that renders an area map. I finally have all the functionality ported over! I attached a screen shotto show what it looks like.
I'm stumped. Anyone with experience in #rust, specifically #rusttype, any ideas? I'm using gpu_cache, and it seems to *sometimes* work. I just can't seem to find anything that would cause this kind of behavior. I'm 99% sure the problem is related to rusttype, as the artifacts are definitely in the glyph cache texture.
Finally compiled and tested llvm. During the whole process, I managed to bore myself watching youtube, eat some, watch some TV, come back to the computer, read Mastodon a bit, and now it seems to be finishing. I'd estimate it took a bit over an hour.
Manually compiled packages are sometimes are real heck.
